Fall 2011 ATIO Preparatory Course

Registration Form

Tutors

To meet the needs of those who wish to prepare for CTTIC’s national examination or simply to improve their professional skills, ATIO is offering a correspondence course covering translation.

The course begins on September 6, 2011. Each participant receives four texts of about 200 words each, translates them and returns them to his/her tutor over a two-month period.

The tutors for ATIO’s Preparatory Course are all accredited professionals with experience as examination markers or as revisers. Their main task is to review the texts submitted, to comment on them and to advise the candidate. At the end of the course, the tutor may give a personal opinion on the candidate’s readiness for the CTTIC examination. This opinion is strictly personal and voluntary and is in no way binding on the tutor or on ATIO.

Here is the timetable for the Preparatory Course:

Sept. 6 – Sept. 20 Translate 1st and 2nd texts; send them to tutor
Sept. 20 – Oct. 4Tutor evaluates translations and returns them to participant
Oct. 4 – Oct. 18Translate 3rd and 4th texts; send them to tutor
Oct. 18 – Nov. 1Tutor evaluates translations and returns them to participant

For administrative reasons, ATIO must limit the number of registrations in its Preparatory Course. In a given year, the number of participants also depends on how many certified members agree to serve as tutors. It is therefore in your interest to return the registration form, together with the required fee, without delay to:
